Christopher Abbott Quits ‘Girls’: Actor Leaving HBO Show Due to ‘Creative Differences’ With Lena Dunham, No Charlie in Season 3
Christopher Abbott, who plays Charlie on the HBO hit show “Girls,” has decided to leave the show, citing creative differences with the show’s writer and lead actress Lena Dunham. The 27-year-old actor is reportedly working on “numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show” for the third season. Abbott was also in the 2011 independent film Martha Marcy May Marlene opposite Hugh Dancy, John Hawkes, and Elizabeth Olsen.
